Membership Information

The Board of Airline Representatives Business Association (BAR) was registered in 2004 as a non-profit business association under the Thai Government Business Registration Office, Department of Business Development. Its mission is to promote airline related operations, and to support and assist members in any matters affecting common interest, including negotiating with the government and private sector for the collective benefit of members.

Types of Membership

- Ordinary membership is open to all scheduled air carriers operating into Thailand. Membership is extended to juristic entities not individuals, and their representative will usually be the most senior executive based in Thailand, but they may also nominate an alternate member from their staff.

- Associate membership is open to off-line and non-scheduled air carriers having representation in Thailand, and certain airline related business entities whose objectives are compatible with those of the BAR. Associate membership for non-airline entities is considered by the Executive Committee on a case by case basis. Membership is extended to juristic entities not individuals.

Benefits of Membership

Ordinary members will be entitled to attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting and at all Ordinary General Meetings (at least three per year). Members will receive information and updates on airline issues, and can raise concerns on airline issues at any time through the EXCOM or the BAR secretariat. They will have the opportunity to meet and network with industry colleagues, and have a voice in shaping the future of the airline industry in Thailand, and will be listed on the BAR website with  links to their own website.

Associate members are entitled to attend and speak at the Annual and Ordinary General Meetings, but are not entitled to vote or hold office. They will receive the same information and updates on airline issues as ordinary members. They may raise any concerns on airline issues through the EXCOM or the BAR secretariat, and are invited to any social or networking events that may be held from time to time. They will be listed on the BAR website with the option of links to their own website.
